onboard Navigator of the Seas. In reality, the slots were not too kind to me. I don't play the tables, although people say I should. Either way, there is plenty in the casino to keep the gamblers happy. Slots from 1c upwards...plenty of ching chinging on most nights but not on my machines. The only ching chinging I heard was when I changed a $20 bill for coins. The machines pay in coins (at least the ones I played did). The seats/stools leave a lot to be desired and dont encourage you to stay for very long as they are quite uncomfortable....but when you're losing money you don't notice that much! Its more uncomfortable when you're walking back to your cabin and working out ways to tell your spouse that you just lost $60 of the cruise fund...!... on the first day! The casino is a smoking area but they did have a non-smoking night on board. It was announced in the compass but when I got there the ashtrays were still out so anyone who missed the announcement still lit up! There are the usual tables and the Tournaments, Lessons and various "specials" run throughout the cruise. The minimum you can cash at the Casino is $20. We had a voucher in the Gold Member booklet "$12 for $10 offer". The bar service left a bit to be desired. Melissa was very good on bar but there were times when the bar was open but no-one was serving. One gentleman and myself sat at the bar for what must have been 10 -15 minutes waiting for someone to appear and serve us drinks. Eventually a member of staff from another bar walked through...he said he didnt work at the casino bar but would happily serve us as the official bar person had disappeared. The service was also rather poor from the "wandering" bar stewards. You know what its like, you're sat at your machine and want a drink. You don't want to go to the bar to get a drink for fear of losing your seat. I waited over 40 minutes, which included me getting up from my stool, running within sight of the bar, hoping a member of staff would see me, and then running back to my stool, before eventually I managed to find someone to take my order. And of course they wont get you cash so you have to do the "Cashier Dash" in the hope that your lowly casino bucket placed on your stool will be enough to stop some other punter stealing your place! The Cashier told me they stopped giving out the cash as guests would sometimes complain they never received it from the bar steward so I suppose I can understand this policy. The "wandering" bar stewards didn't seem that interested in getting drinks orders....some nights they never ever came to the bank of slots we were playing so Navigator lost out on some cash there. The cashiers were very friendly and helpful. They wish you luck but it doesn't work so I think RCI should look at their "luck giving policy" as it needs reviewing! I enjoyed the casino, my husband enjoyed the bill!.....I didnt win, but hey ho! Friends did win on the tables so that was nice. I don't gamble much so I can't give a review for big money players, but for my needs of a small flutter, utter disappointment, and a hopeful return the next day. |
