The Spa is fantastic! I was really impressed. The hot tub (right) is great...I mean really great and you shouldn't miss it. It was wonderfully warm and a lot bigger than this photo gives credit for. You can swim in it, sit on one side or stand on the other. There is a "super jet" in the middle which is fun to swim through.....but ladies, wear waterproof miscara. I came out looking like Alice Cooper! This is fantastic after a day ashore. It's really relaxing and there is a lovely artwork on the ceiling above of birds and sky. There are plenty of towels available, and always regularly replenished. I visited the sauna and steam room too. The sauna was good and always hot. There's a bucket of course and a water fountain if you want to add more water. The steam room was great when working but one day when I visited it was out of action. On another day it was struggling to get going but then a blast of steam started coming up from the floor and it was fine after that. |
We had booked the Couples Rasul treatment for the second sea day. I was really looking forward to it because I had read good reviews. It was $91 for both of us. We turned up at our appointment time and the girl took us through to the room. There was a shower, a counter full of products and then the steam room. The girl showed us into the first room and told us that she had forgotten to turn the steam room on but we should give it five minutes and we should be okay. They tell you to start with a salt scrub, rub it all over yourself and then shower it off. Next you step into the steam room, cover yourself with mud and then after 50 minutes a rainshower comes down from the ceiling so you can wash the mud off. So we covered ourselves in salt and then showered it off. We went into the steam room but.....no steam. I decided to go and find the girl, little knowing that my husband had already started covering himself with mud! "Stop" I screamed, imagining him having to walk back to the cabin looking like the creature from the black lagoon! He stared at me through mud framed eyes. "What?" he said in bewilderment. "I'm only doing what I was told." |

dripping on his carpet, explained the problem and he came and had a look. After knocking on the door and hoping to goodness that my husband hadn't got carried away and was now head to toe in mud, we went back into the treatment room and the chap tinkered with some controls under the counter. He said they'd had problems with the room before and then went to fetch the girl who had set us up. She returned saying maintenance were on their way and would we like to wait while they fixed everything. By this time the whole experience had been marred - we were supposed to be relaxed but there was just me in a robe dripping wet and my husband eyeing up mud. So we decided not to bother, got dressed, made sure our account was credited and left. It was such a shame as we had so been looking forward to it......but at least my husband's skin glowed for a week! |
